The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Sunday conducted the preliminary (screening) examination in offline OMR mode for recruitment to the posts of Forest Beat Officer, Assistant Beat Officer, and Forest Section Officer. The exams were held across erstwhile 13 district centres in the State. According to a statement by Commission Secretary P. Raja Babu, a total of 1,17,958 candidates applied for the Forest Beat Officer posts. Of these, 97,038 candidates appeared for the exam, while 20,920 were absent, marking an attendance of 89.87%. For the Forest Section Officer posts, 19,568 candidates applied, of whom 15,412 appeared and 4,156 were absent, recording an attendance of 86.46%. APPSC Chairperson A.R. Anuradha, along with the Secretary and members, visited several district centres to oversee the smooth conduct of the examination. Mr. Raja Babu inspected the test centre at K.B.N. College in Vijayawada.
