INDIA - NEPAL JOINT EXERCISE SURYAKIRAN XIX – 2025 COMMENCES TODAY

Key Points

1. Joint Military exercise “Exercise SURYAKIRAN XIX - 2025” commenced on 25 November 2025.
2. The exercise is being conducted at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
3. The exercise will continue until 08 December 2025.
4. Both the Indian and Nepal contingents consist of 334 personnel each.
5. The Indian contingent is mainly represented by troops from the ASSAM Regiment.
6. The Nepal contingent is mainly represented by troops from the DEVI DATTA Regiment.
7. The exercise aims to jointly rehearse conduct of Sub Conventional operations under Chapter VII of United Nations Mandate.
8. Exercise SURYAKIRAN–XIX will focus on incorporating niche and emerging technologies, including Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
