Ministry of Home Affairs ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमाओं के साथ स्थित गाँवों के सर्वांगीण विकास के लिए Vibrant Villages Programme‑II (₹6,839 crore) को मंजूरी दी है, जो पहले के VVP‑I और Border Area Development Programme को पूरक है। यह कदम उत्तर‑पूर्व और हिमालयी राज्यों के सीमा जिलों में बुनियादी ढाँचा, आजीविका और कनेक्टिविटी को सुधारने, सीमा जनसंख्या को एकीकृत करने और राष्ट्रविरोधी गतिविधियों को रोकने का लक्ष्य रखता है।
Overview The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has cleared the Vibrant Villages Programme‑II (VVP‑II) . This follows the earlier VVP‑I and the broader Border Area Development Programme (BADP) . The focus is on improving infrastructure, livelihood opportunities and connectivity in strategically sensitive border districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Sikkim and Uttarakhand. Key Developments Financial outlay: ₹6,839 crore allocated for VVP‑II up to FY 2028‑29. Geographic coverage: Select villages in blocks abutting ILBs other than the northern border already covered under VVP‑I. Project portfolio: Includes roads, schools, health centres, renewable energy, tourism infrastructure, animal husbandry, fisheries, skill‑training centres and on‑grid power supply. Connectivity boost: 112 roads and 35 LSBs worth ₹2,513.35 crore sanctioned to link 135 unconnected villages in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Uttarakhand. Trade facilitation: 15 Integrated Check Posts ( ICPs ) operationalised by LPAI along international borders. Legislative reference: Announcement made by Shri Nityanand Rai , Minister of State, MHA, in response to a Rajya Sabha query.
