Security forces arrested an active cadre of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) outfit from the Patsoi area in Imphal West district. He has been identified as 24-year-old Naorem Thembung, a police statement said. In an operation in Nepali Basti area in Churachandpur district, two single-barrel rifles, two country-made grenades, three country-made shells, eight country-made mortars and 25 cartridges were seized. Security forces also seized a .303 sniper rifle with a magazine, a telescope, a country-made gun, two single-barrel rifles, one .32 country-made pistol with a magazine and five bulletproof plates from Keipha Road in Bishnupur district. They also seized an INSAS LMG with a magazine, an SBBL gun, a Chinese-made grenade and cartridges from Phubala Mamang Pat in Bishnupur district, it added. Published - October 14, 2025 09:07 am IST
