The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports is launching the National Padyatra of the Sardar@150 Unity March on November 26, aiming to connect Sardar Patel’s legacy with contemporary civic responsibility. This 11-day march, led by MY Bharat volunteers, will traverse from Vallabh Vidyanagar to the Statue of Unity, promoting unity, Swadeshi principles, and youth engagement, making it relevant for UPSC preparation in areas of history, polity, and economy.
Overview The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) , through MY Bharat , is set to launch the National Padyatra of the Sardar@150 Unity March from Shastri Maidan, Vallabh Vidyanagar , on 26 November , which is observed nationwide as Constitution Day . This march builds upon the momentum created across the country and represents the culmination of a unity-driven movement inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision. Key Developments Launch and Leadership The National Padyatra will be flagged off on November 26th . Eminent dignitaries, including Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel and Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha , will be present. MY Bharat volunteers will lead youth engagement throughout the march. Pre-Event Activities and Participation As of 24 November , the campaign covered 613 districts out of 780 . 1,422 padyatras were completed across district and assembly-constituency levels, spanning 431 Lok Sabha constituencies . These padyatras traversed over 7,200 kilometers , with participation from over 14.3 lakh citizens . Padyatra Route and Activities The padyatra commences on 26 November at 9:00 am with floral tributes at Sardar Patel’s ancestral residence in Karamsad . A Sardar Sabha will be held at Shastri Maidan, Vallabh Vidyanagar . The padyatra will be flagged off at 12:00 noon , marking the start of an 11-day journey covering nearly 180 km to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia . The route includes stops at Sardar Patel University , Shaheed Chowk , and Navli , among others. Thematic Stops and Community Engagement 150 thematic stops will showcase exhibitions, local craftsmanship, and government schemes. Daily Sardar Gatha sessions will narrate episodes from Sardar Patel’s life. Community participation will be strengthened through Gram Sabhas , Swachhata drives , and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiatives. Promotion of Swadeshi and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Participants are encouraged to wear Khadi and support local artisans. Swadeshi stalls , women’s SHGs , and young innovators will promote the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat . Culmination The padyatra will culminate on 6 December at the Statue of Unity . Participants will pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel .
