South Central Railway (SCR) has reported a series of infrastructure upgrades, safety awards and new services that strengthen its operational capacity and passenger amenities.

- Track renewal on 135.22 km and completion of 20 road under‑bridges (RUBs).
- Tripling of the Asifabad‑Sirpur Kaghaznagar section, completing the Kazipet‑Balharshah tripling project.
- Doubling of Manyamkonda‑Mahabubnagar, new chord line Lallaguda‑Sitafalmandi A Cabin, and gauge conversion Amlakhurd‑Tukaithad.
- Introduction of four new train pairs, regularisation of 31 special‑train pairs, and operation of 75 special trains with 652 extra coaches.
- Launch of the Cherlapalli‑Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Express as a weekly regular service from 2 Oct 2026.
- Completion of station upgrades at Hi‑Tech City and Komuravelli Punyakshetram under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, including 10 foot‑over‑bridges, lifts and escalators.

During the current financial year SCR earned a gross originating revenue of ₹4,060.57 crore, split into ₹2,640.80 crore from freight and ₹1,236.88 crore from passenger services. Freight loading reached 30.593 million tonnes. Under Mission Raftar, open‑wagon speeds were raised to 100 km/h. Solar power capacity was expanded to 13.34 MWp, and revenue from the Mission Zero Scrap initiative exceeded the target by 30%.
