Overview
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare held a two‑day National Review Meeting on Disease Surveillance and Public Health Programmes in New Delhi on 16–17 July 2026. Senior health officials from all 36 States and Union Territories (UTs) participated to examine progress of key health programmes and to set a common performance‑monitoring system.

The meeting was inaugurated by Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Additional Secretary (Public Health), and attended by Dr. Loveneesh G. Krishna, Director General of Health Services, along with other senior officials. The agenda covered 12 major programmes, including the Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP) and the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health.
