PM-JUGA is the largest ever concerted effort for tribal development, moving beyond the 'departmental' approach to a 'saturation' approach. Unlike previous schemes that were scattered, this focuses on specific villages with a high tribal population (at least 50% ST and 500 total population) to ensure every household receives every benefit they are eligible for. It directly addresses the socio-economic gaps in the Human Development Index (HDI) between tribal and non-tribal populations. Its success depends on the sensitivity of the district administration and the mapping of difficult terrains.
PM-JUGA marks a shift from 'top-down' planning to 'saturation-based' service delivery for India's tribal community. Discuss.
Crucial for GS2 (Social Justice/Vulnerable Sections). Keywords: Saturation of Services, Tribal HDI, Holistic Development, Cultural Preservation, and Whole-of-Government approach. Statistics: 63,843 villages and 5 crore ST people covered.
