1. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to inaugurate 280 free houses for Sri Lankan Tamils on December 27.
2. The houses are built at a cost of ₹22.62 crore in Kasthambadi village, Tiruvannamalai.
3. The project aims to provide housing for 1,131 Sri Lankan Tamil families in the district.
4. Each house costs ₹8.10 lakh and has a living room, bedroom, washroom, and kitchen, covering 291 sq.ft.
5. Tiruvannamalai has the highest number of Sri Lankan Tamil camps with 3,196 persons.
6. Mr. Stalin will also inaugurate 314 completed projects worth ₹2,095 crore during his visit.
7. The initiative was launched by M.K. Stalin in Vellore in November 2021.
