India reviews free‑trade talks with the Gulf Cooperation Council

The GCC is India’s largest trading‑partner bloc. In 2024‑25, bilateral trade with the GCC reached US$178.56 billion, accounting for 15.42 % of India’s global trade. Exports to the GCC were about US$56.87 billion, while imports stood at US$121.68 billion. Major Indian exports include engineering goods, rice, textiles, machinery, and gems & jewellery; imports are dominated by crude oil, LNG, petrochemicals and gold.
Cumulative Indian investment in GCC countries exceeds US$31.14 billion (as of September 2025). The region also contributes a large share of remittances, with nearly 10 million Indians residing there.
