Kochi Mayor promises corruption-free governance, to hold public hearings

Key Points

1. Kochi Mayor V.K. Minimol aims to resolve files within 7 days, or 15 days if the Mayor's involvement is needed.
2. A monitoring system with public hearings attended by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be introduced to check corruption.
3. The Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML), which financed many projects, is set to expire.
4. The concept of division funds, previously used by Kochi Corporation, will not be revived.
5. The new Corporation office is not yet fully operational; only the council hall and chambers of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor have been shifted.
