Overview
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has created a comprehensive framework to tackle cyber crime in India. Recognising that law‑enforcement is a State subject, the Centre has set up the I4C and a suite of digital platforms to enable reporting, investigation and prevention of cyber fraud, especially against women, children and financial victims.
Key Developments (2021‑2026)
- Launch of the NCRP to capture all cyber‑crime complaints.
- Introduction of the CFCFRMS in 2021; saved **Rs 11,158 crore** across **32.80 lakh** complaints by 30‑06‑2026.
- Operationalisation of toll‑free helpline **1930** for online cyber‑complaint assistance.
- Establishment of the state‑of‑the‑art CFMC, which has blocked **15.75 lakhs** SIM cards and **5.77 lakhs** IMEIs.
- Roll‑out of the Suspect Registry on 10‑09‑2024; over **30.48 lakhs** suspect IDs and **32.08 lakhs** mule accounts flagged, averting transactions worth **Rs 25,698 crore**.
- Activation of the Samanvaya Platform with modules like Pratibimb for mapping criminal locations and techno‑legal assistance.
- Launch of Sahyog to enforce the IT Act, 2000.
- Creation of the CyTrain MOOC; **1,63,344** officers registered and **1,61,957** certificates issued.<
