Overview The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) , Mysuru zone, has initiated a Tree Census Project for Mysuru city. This project aims to create a credible, ward-wise baseline to support environmental planning and long-term sustainable growth of Mysuru. Key Developments A scientific tree census effort has already commenced in the city, with Mysuru Green Projects (MGP) and the Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) , Mangaluru, along with a few academic institutions, undertaking systematic documentation. Preliminary progress indicates that around 15,000 trees have been counted across two wards, and the city-wide tree population is estimated to be over 2,00,000 . CII's Initiative Building on the existing foundation, CII Mysuru zone is scaling the effort through wider participation from its member industries and institutions. Kick-off and Training Session To formally roll out the initiative and equip participating organizations, CII Mysuru is organizing a Tree Census Project kick-off and Train-the-Trainer session on December 22 at IS Seminar Hall, Golden Jubilee Bhavan, JSS Science and Technology University from 5 pm to 6 pm . The session will include a practical orientation on the tree census approach, hands-on training on data capture and collation using a dedicated mobile application. Session Details Date: December 22 .
