Overview The police have implemented high-security measures in Kozhikode district for the local body elections scheduled on Thursday, December 11, 2025 . This is the second phase of the local body elections in Kerala . The security arrangements include the deployment of 5,000 police personnel and the support of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) , a specialized wing of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) . Enhanced Monitoring and Patrolling Regular patrolling will continue in these areas until the completion of the election process. The movement of vehicles and suspicious individuals will be monitored by plainclothesmen. Videographers will document the election proceedings in highly sensitive areas. Community Engagement and Awareness Route marches were conducted on December 9 in all sensitive regions to demonstrate the strength of the deployed forces. Active cooperation from voters is needed to ensure compliance with safety regulations. A dedicated squad will track social media pages that spread misinformation related to the polling process. Voter Demographics As per the updated electoral roll, Kozhikode district has 26.82 lakh eligible voters, including 12.66 lakh men , 14.16 lakh women , and 32 transgender persons .
