The plant aims to treat mine water to produce drinking water, branded as Neyveli Neer , for commercial use and to provide opportunities for local communities, especially women-led Self-Help Groups. Capacity: 10,000 litres per hour . Daily Output: Targeted daily output of 1 lakh litres . Objective: Sustainable reuse of mine water and supply of purified drinking water to nearby communities at a nominal cost. Inaugurations and Visits Electric Vehicle Charging Station: Virtually inaugurated at NLC Tamil Nadu Power Limited (NTPL) , Thoothukudi, at the Neyveli New Thermal Power Station (NNTPS). Heritage Museum and Ananda Illam: Visited NLCIL’s heritage museum and Ananda Illam, a home for the elderly operated by NLCIL under its CSR program.
