Key Points

  1. Indian Railways freight loading crossed 1 billion tonnes in FY 25-26, reaching 1020 MT by November 19, 2025.
  2. Coal contributed the largest share at 505 MT.
  3. Iron ore loading reached 115 MT.
  4. Cement loading reached 92 MT.
  5. Container traffic reached 59 MT.
  6. Daily freight loading averaged 4.4 MT, surpassing last year's 4.2 MT.
  7. Freight loading from April to October 2025 reached 935.1 MT, compared to 906.9 MT in the same period last year.
  8. Railways introduced a Policy for Bulk Cement Terminals and rationalized rates for bulk cement movement in containers.
