Key Points

  1. India is a key part of the global transition to a self-reliant hydrogen economy.
  2. Four Hydrogen Valleys are being developed across India with a total investment of ₹485 crore.
  3. ₹169.89 crore has been allocated under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) for the Hydrogen Valleys.
  4. The Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme has a corpus of ₹1 lakh crore.
  5. ₹20,000 crore is allocated for the Department of Science and Technology under the RDI Scheme.
  6. The 3rd International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH–2025) was held in New Delhi.
  7. The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) aims to integrate academia, industry, and government.
  8. Mission Innovation 2.0 aims to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen to USD 2 per kilogram by 2030.
